How should I write my words into formal sentence

How should I write my words into formal sentence?
I am from Burma. Currently, living in the United States for over three years. Whenever I introduce people where I am from, they will assume that "oh! Burma is part of China, right?" I feel left out. Burma is a country which has nothing to do with China. I feel like I cannot find my identity as Burmese. People are so ignorant. How should I summarize my words into one fine sentence. Thank you

No, quite frankly, I am from Burma, which is not associated with China at all. Thank you very much! (notice the sarcasm?)

it's not in mexico... Unless there's another Burma that idk about. Its that place whose name changed to Myanmar right? My moral teacher talked to us about some conflicts in that area. You can simply add that it's not a part of China

If people don't know about Burma you should not be angry or feel "left out" It is a great opportunity to kindly educate people about your lovely country, which is not part of China, but is an independent country that borders on Thailand, India, Laos, Bangladesh (sp?) as well as China. You can take the opportunity to tell people who have no preconceived notions about Burma and they will respect you.
