in US people can talk openly about it. Accept for those people that live in the Middle east and Africa, China, North Korea, Myanmar and etc to spooky not really I'm talking overall. So many street protest right now, why because they do not have a platform to discuss about all of this thing. When i say middle east it exclude Israel

If you are talking about 513 incident, and etc. My own opinion is there are a lot of conspiracy that are not allow to review by the public. So, we might not see what is the truth.

We can all talk about it but words count for nothing only action matters. By the way what are we talking about.

i think the so called "afraid of discussing sensitive issue" is another phrase of "living in denial". in my very limited understanding of the malaysian society, that is. sadly, our mentality is - if you cant fight it, you hide it. well i honestly dont foresee another may 13 incident between chinese community and the majority, i believe chinese are much more intelligent nowadays to push things the SAFE way. through words, and other civilised manner ;-) in US, people talk about things openly, that's quite true but there are still incidents that fit into your description of "time bomb". for example, when black people are charged with crimes, its community start yelling "that's racism," whether or not it is the case. well actually, im not sure i read your question fully. lol anyway keep them coming. i like your questions :) to spooky- you may be interested to look at a book sold on malaysiakini.com, entitled: MAY 13: Declassified Documents on the Malaysian Riots of 1969. well it claims to have photos taken that then that were not revealed to the public. im not sure if it is available in any physical bookstore in malaysia, but i havent been able to get hold a copy.

everyone is hoping to avoid the sensitive issue are really thinking of not lighting the bomb maybe in the future when the community has developed more maturity then it can be solve them one by one seriously that not the case , if after 50 years we are not able to look at those issue then we are sure to be in trouble worse of all are the politicians that are using this pain of the nation for their own agenda namely money

Don't need to talk about racial matters, corruption and cover up are the main issues today - join politic to get rich fast so less people talking about sensitive matters the better!

hmm...interesting...I don’t really talk or discuss on sensitive issues...but it doesn’t mean that I live in a time bomb...I do talk on those issues with my colleagues...especially my boss...mostly are very open minded people...as a Malay, sometimes I get irritated when people start to mock about my own race and Islam...and who’s not? I’m sure each one of us might feel the same...but we tend to keep it low and not to show the anger...but then I openly accept their thoughts and remarks...and I don’t take it too deep...because it could end up with something more serious... so I take it as a lesson and think of their side of views...then will give what I believe as my opinion...my boss is Chinese and he has the same opinion (like mine) on why people don’t talk on this issue openly especially in the public...this is because most of them are the older people...well, I guess I know pretty well why they refused to talk or discuss on the issue...it is obviously why they refused to discuss it because they live in the era where this issue became the most unforgettable tragedy for the entire nation even the youngsters know about it...this is why some people are just too afraid to discuss on this issue...the old may rise up and it could happen...so in order to prevent the old drama to be happened they chose to keep it as low as they can...as a young girl, I believe that they have their own reason why they dare not to touch on the issue...we have been living in peace for at least 50 years (maybe just 49 years or maybe less) so why not we try to maintain the harmony that we have so far? besides some people cannot accept the bad remarks on their own people nor the religion...its an insult to them...we as human have feelings...so try to think what the others might think...see from their view not just our own view as we don’t live here alone...we live together…with the others...we have to respect not just our own self but the rest of the people...if we don’t value the harmony that we have now then we shall regret it, if the old tragedy came to real and become one of our nightmare... My boss once said that Chinese has a shrunken balls...this was said by one of the malaysiakini columnist...why? Because according to these few people Chinese only talks on this kind of issue in kopitiam or in our case...in this YAM...and not many of them are willing to stand up to speak up for their own...no offend...as the same goes to some of the Malay people itself...and why? Like I said because of the fear that the old might rise up...

Not really. When certain people are not allowed (that's why afraid) to discuss the so-called sentitive issues, and yet, the other can legalise and scream for all the sensitive issues that favour them, it is no longer a time bomb ...
