Have you ever seen footage of people getting their heads hacked off with machettes

Have you ever seen footage of people getting their heads hacked off with machettes?
I have, and the footage was from Myanmar in 1997. I was working at CNBC Hong Kong and they sent in a tape of 3 students getting their heads hacked off (1 girl, 2 men) by a mob backed by the military regime. Their crime? Protesting peacefully against the government in the name of democracy. The footage was gruesome, puddles of blood, heads being held high for the camera. Needless to say it didn't make our broadcast. I hope our government has the balls to take serious action against Burma because the people there are starving for democracy and freedom. And unlike Iraq, they will welcome us with open arms as liberators, not as occupiers. To bad there isn't any oil over there or we would have done something about it 15 years ago. Long live Aung San Syu Kyi.

I've never seen something like that, but that is very sad. How can people be so incredibly cruel?? It's so sickening....

Welcomed with open arms ????? You just said they are cutting off heads for this.....

it would violate treaties thats the only reason we can't, and those stupid polititians won't cuz it takes more money... money they could be stuffing in their already fat pockets we were just in iraq because of the oil and bush was finishing his father's work. and of course so he could put his good buddies company back in there to make millions so he could fund the candidate HE wanted for the next president. Halifax polititians generally don't care unless there's something in it for them but, you could try to write to congress, or the other forms of our twisted gov't

Wow, that is intense. Unfortunately most Americans have our heads up our ... and are too concerned with Prada, etc. to give a flying .... The world of humans is a f-ing mess, but it always has been. People are the only intentionally cruel animal, what an evolution... Sorry this is not an answer, but I ask myself everyday if there is hope and what can i do, (I do what I can) but answers to these questions, well it just seems that we will never be free of horrible people causing suffering. Utopia will not happen in my lifetime if ever.

What does oil have to do with anything? with why we're in Iraq? Have you people forgot about 9/11 already?

what you wrote up there really angers me. sadly, i feel that there always be that type of people who has no compassion for humanity. i hope aung san syu kyi is alright. anyway, to answer your question, the only footage i remember is from that movie feregnheit 911 (sorry, i spelled it wrong). it was that arabian king or whatever that got publicly executed in front of the whole crowd. needless to say, the whole people were cheering at his execution. but this has nothing to do with fighting for justice and freedom for oppressed asian countries, so i'm sorry! thanks for the question. Long live Aung San Syu Kyi!

Mob action in riots is so drastic and someone can take advantage of the situation to make it voilent. It can be communist students or it can be work of military intelligence. Most porbably military intelligence. That is why the pro democracy people used monks to have a peaceful demonstration and show to the world that the military is killing peaceful demonstrators. People in general are peaceful and do not like soldiers above them. They should be given a chance to practice democracy after so many years of suppression and economic mismanagement. The past two decades of sanctions did nothing progressive for the whole country. Generals got richer and more attached to power and wealth now.
