Trying to locate a person in Burma, now know as Myanmar?
Trying to locate a person by the name of Kyaw Win in Rangoon Burma? Hello, I'm trying to reach a person by the name of Kyaw Win. He has a son in the United States. He has only seen him twice. I would like to make contact with Kyaw Win. The last time I saw him was about 5 years ago, he came over on a Merchant ship. I knew he was last living in Rangoon Burma. His father was a General in the Burmese army and they came to live in the United states in th 1960's and his father worked here in the States at the Burmese Embassy. If you can help me with any information as far as who I could or should contact my son and I would be very grateful. His sons name is Kyaw Win Kelley and my name is Corinthia Johnson. My contact number is (240) 882-7218 and my email address is: cccctrainer@yahoo.com Corinthia Johnson: Thanking you in advance for any help you can give.

Maybe the Asia Pacific forum can help you a little more than the Thailand forum. http://au.answers.yahoo.com/dir/;_ylt=AuXC5fq1YHr9rOBYvbFiyCk_EBV.;_ylv=3?link=list&sid=396545484 You might try to contact him through the Seamans Union or what every company employed him before on the Merchant ship. Perhaps he is still working at sea. Maybe he is collecting a pension and the check is sent to some address. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Seaman%27s+Union+Myanmar&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq= Good luck.

Havn't been there for a few years but last time I was there it was a cheap place to live.. For accomodation try FMI city , just over the river .When I was there it was all but deserted because the locals couldn't afford it! Unit style accomodation , gated community.. Internet available but Govt controlled , mobile service & cable TV. Food is very cheap...

it's a lovely place.... ((mmm... i don't live there but i visited for like 2 weeks 2 or 3 years ago -good food, not expensive -yes to technology, though supervised.. -they are friendly so you can rent just as well hope you'll have a lovely time!

I guess it would depend on if you were in the military or a citizen.
2 :
Of course it's not fair. More to the point, what can be done to support the monks and other protesters who want freedom and democracy in Burma?
3 :
Of course not, but again it is the same old postmodern problem being that it is not about morality so much as it is about desire and power, at least on the part of Junta. Until material desires are lessened and spiritual ones emphasized suffering will continue to pervade on a wide scale. The problem here is how to you convince the few who are abusing the many to cease their behavior and actually assist at being helpful instead of being self serving?
