When you see pictures of the tremendous suffering in Myanmar and China, does it cause you to reflect?
It causes me to reflect on how blessed and lucky people like me are to live in the USA.

yea, but if you reflect too much it might make you depressed so i try not to dwell on it too much.
2 :
Sure does. We are lucky.
3 :
It breaks my heart. But it does make me feel lucky to be here in the U.S..
4 :
Nope.
5 :
Its the same for me u know but I dont think as a pessimist jus think about happy stuff and what we can o to make it better for the people!
6 :
Does that tells U how freak we are if US is annoying us?
7 :
not really... but i am great full what I have
8 :
It makes me reflect on how idiotic some of our american people can be and how selfish the people that wont let us go in and dismantle there opressive government can be. I wish some of these liberal idiots would relize that we need to help others achieve there freedom!
9 :
Like in New Orleans, China will as least accept world aid and we can help them directly by giving money to groups like UMCOR. With Myanmar, their government is not even allowing the outside world to help their people. They are allowing them to suffer, starve, and the like. THAT is what I reflect on, and how the USA and other powerful nations stand around and allow governments like these to exist.
10 :
OH YEA IT DOES!! picstures affect us a lot more than just reading about it in the newspaper. when u see bad things happen to other people that didnt deserve it u think about "wow what if that was me?" or "omg bill that could have been u" u know? u always bring it close to home. idk u make it more of a reality i guess
11 :
It is a big tragedy, I thank to God for protecting me and my family and yes this country. I feel really bad seeing those families suffering because the death of their folks and missing members. I pray to God for them to give them straighten and wisdom to manage the tragic situation they are living righr now.

more than the 9-11... this is the most awful thing I have ever heard of.. that the militants are keeping the good food for themselves and giving the surviving victims the rotten left overs is more than i can stomach... I read int he news yesterday of a Iraqi father that killed hhis 17 yr old daughter for speaking to a british soldier... and had the gawl to be critical of the western women...his police congratualted him, gave him paid leave until the publicity ran down some. Can you believe???
13 :
Well, I reflect on our own preparedness. Remember 9/11? Remember Katrina? What if CA has the next big quake and it is due for one? What if Seattle get hit with the next big Tsunami? What if FL gets hit with the next big Hurricane?

How should I write my words into formal sentence

How should I write my words into formal sentence?
I am from Burma. Currently, living in the United States for over three years. Whenever I introduce people where I am from, they will assume that "oh! Burma is part of China, right?" I feel left out. Burma is a country which has nothing to do with China. I feel like I cannot find my identity as Burmese. People are so ignorant. How should I summarize my words into one fine sentence. Thank you

what? everyone knows Burma is in Mexico
2 :
No, quite frankly, I am from Burma, which is not associated with China at all. Thank you very much! (notice the sarcasm?)
3 :
it's not in mexico... Unless there's another Burma that idk about. Its that place whose name changed to Myanmar right? My moral teacher talked to us about some conflicts in that area. You can simply add that it's not a part of China
4 :
If people don't know about Burma you should not be angry or feel "left out" It is a great opportunity to kindly educate people about your lovely country, which is not part of China, but is an independent country that borders on Thailand, India, Laos, Bangladesh (sp?) as well as China. You can take the opportunity to tell people who have no preconceived notions about Burma and they will respect you.

Is The Revolt In Myanmar Similar To What Will Happen In Communist China

Is The Revolt In Myanmar Similar To What Will Happen In Communist China?
The people of Myanmar are rejecting the similar type of oppressive government used in most areas (rural) of communist China. 900 million Chinese live in extreme poverty in rural areas while the leaders of China live like kings.

Of course. And don't expect the Buddhists to do anything about it. They relish peace, but complain when they are oppressed. Silly. Most people deserve the governments that rule over them. Edit: As of 10/1 - 138 people were killed — more than 10 times the government figure — and 6,000 detained. Sad.
2 :
No, the PRC has already killed most of its monks decades ago.
3 :
No. So far its peaceful. China's revolt didn't end peacefully.
4 :
only in your dreams.the chinks will kill them in a heart beat!
5 :
All the revolts that u are hoping for have happened several times in past already. Now they are trying something to fix these problems
6 :
At this point, I would say no. The biggest complaint from Myanmar citizens is the rampant corruption. The government has lost the complete trust of the people. The economy is closed so that doesn't help alleviate economic issues. Lastly, there's established political opponents to the government, like Aung San Suu Kyi. China's government is guilty of corrupt practices but most of the blame goes to the local provincial governments while the central national government is perceived as less corrupt. The economy is more open, so Chinese citizens can move (with the right paperwork) from rural areas to urban areas to find jobs. Lastly, I don't know of any famous Chinese dissident anymore... There's no Sun Yat-sen that talks against the Chinese government. It's hard to mobilize nationwide protests and revolts without a central figure. Eventually, I think China will adapt a more democratic system but it will take decades, and it won't look like the American system.

I understand your question differently from other people who has answered. Because you said "what will happen". I assume you are asking predition for future China. If that's the case, my answer is absolutely no. China is not a stickly communist government anymore and they are transforming into open market system years ago. Chinese Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is approaching to that of US and currently # 2. But will be the top in next few year. But does this help it poor people? I would say to a certain extend it does. However, although a super growing economy of China is not in a position to raise the standard of living to all it citizens. It will take very long time. There are very large population of poors in China and hopefully they will be better off someday without changing it political system. Changing it economics system is well enought to help their citizen. Burma case is abit different. It economy is going, everyone expect military offiers and their relatives. Utilizing all natural resources for their own good. Not a real open market (just a lie). Pluse they burnt thousands of villages, forcing people to leave Burma. The main different is China is approaching to the top whereas Burma is going to the bottom. So, it ain't going to happen in China. However, if you know 1989 uprising in China, you would definitely assume that it followed up after 1988 uprising of Burma.
8 :
It is similar to what will happen in America if we lose against the Camel Jockey's.
9 :
Remember its Red China , unless the military turned , the folks don't have much of a Chance
10 :
I don't see any difference here in America, or Iraq, or Mexico, or any other country.
