9 people died in Myanmar yesterday, isn't it their own fault

9 people died in Myanmar yesterday, isn't it their own fault?
If you live in a country that doesn't allow protest and uses forces to quell uprisings, isn't it your own fault if the goverment kills you for protesting?

It's so nice to take that nice freedom you have for granted, isn't it?. I wish you were in their situation and see the oppresive rule they have to deal on a daily basis.
2 :
No it's the governments fault. The government is like the ancient monarchies. They are there to serve the people. Killing them is not a service. Dismissing your constituents as irrelevant is a foolish form of government whether you are an oligarchy, anarchy, monarchy, or a democratic form of government. You still have to serve the people and if they are dissatisfied to the point of large protests then the government isn't doing their job! Killing them isn't going to settle the problem.

It is more than nine people and what about the hundreds if not thousands rounded up? They are demonstrating PEACEFULLY against a regime that massacred several thousands in 1988. People turned a blind eye to the Holocaust and look what happened. http://ko-htike.blogspot.com/

Gee, Ain't it nice to have freedom? This is what our forefathers, and veterans have fought 4 for decades. Do U kinda get a perspective of what the protestors are fighting 4? You don't see weapons in the protestors hands, just them standing up for their own freedoms. Sometimes U have to die for what U believe in to get freedom for your children.
5 :
we take granted the freedom of speech. We should support the myanmar people. This is the military junta's fault
6 :
Is this a joke question? Of course it is not their fault. They should have the freedom to protest without injury. Yes, they knew it was a risk but they took it anyway because the oppression is so grave. If you want to place blame place it were it belongs from the generals that rule all the way down to the soldiers who are commanded to beat, torture, systematically rape, conscript (slavery), arrest, as well as kill innocent people (including shooting foriegn journalists at point blank range. These people have been suffering such atrocities long before these current protests. In fact most people do not have enough food to even buy lunch. They literally have to govern there money often having to chose between transportation or a meal while those in power live opulent lifestyles at the public expense. When a population is on the brink of starvation they have every right to protest. In fact things are so bad over their many blame Bush for not invading and freeing them of such a brutal Junta that controls them. Things have to be pretty bad when you'd rather be invaded by a foriegn country. I'm not advocating invasion but please have a little compassion and respect in what they are trying to do. It's easy to criticize when you enough freedom and prosperity.

If all people followed your thinking we would still be a part of the British Empire. Freedom is not cheap, it is bought with the blood of patriots.
8 :
nice to be able to ask that question in the comfort of your cozy little house sitting on FREE land. Do some research
9 :
Fault naming solves nothing.
10 :
You might have a case if you were referring to people who have chosen to go and live in a country that disallows protest (or maybe not). However, what you are referring to is a peaceful unarmed protest against the lack of democracy in Myanmar (you know that thing that is recognised as the true hallmark of all civilised societies?) being met with bullets? So it would be their own fault that an unarmed protestor is shot dead by an armed soldier while asking for something that most of the world takes for granted as an inalienable human right? I think not.

Being warped mentally does not give you the "right" to make such ridiculous statements. But, you live in a "free" country. Thus, you have the "right" to be who you are, no matter what most people think of you. If you ever get bored being "free" just move to Myanmar and become a Buddhist Monk

Don't think Martin Luther King would agree.

First off, that's the way north Americans are now, they prefer to entertain themselves rather than socialize. So it may not be personal. The fact that she will only chat with you one day a week seems pretty clear to me that she has defined you as her Saturday Google guy. Meaning she has no interest in going past that. I don't think she is interested in you romantically, sorry. Also, don't worry so much about what to say, just be yourself with anybody, people still like people who are confident in who they are. I know this isn't the response you were looking for, but I hope some part of it helps.

But I have a very unhealthy family (Mentally) my dad was an alcoholic,gambler,abuser..................etc Because of that i have to live at my uncle's house. ya and the School in my country are lame. They hurt kids really really hard if they don't do their homework. Do you think the thoughts will come back??? I'm almost 16 , currently living in the US. I know its selfish, and My life isn't that bad But i couldn't stop thinking about it. I cry a lot when i was in burma and ya I used to bit myself until my arm bleeds.

This is nothing to commit suicide over. Your lucky compared to what some people have to go through.
2 :
Just think about how selfish that would be. What about all the people who care about you. You commit suicide to ease your pain and leave them behind.
3 :
It's possible the feelings could come back, but you have to remember suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, the feeling may come but it WILL go away. You have to be strong and get through it and you will learn by the experiences you have and will become a better person because of them.
4 :
yup, like ull only ever get depressed n have suicidal thoughts once in ur life, lifes full of them
5 :
I bet you wont do it!!!!

With that also, i am trying to find out how to get a Burmese Visa? I live in Chicago, i looked online but can't seem to find any information on any Burmese Embassies or Consulates or anything. Thanks!

any travel agent will know.I hear they are expensive to get. You can fly in. I know the easiest way to get there would be on an escorted tour. the agent would look after every detail, including the visa you require.
2 :
sorry , don;t know
