how to improve soccer skills against big Americans

how to improve soccer skills against big Americans?
It seems to me that no matter how good the people in our tight knit Burmese community is at soccer, the big American players always have an advantage. We are Ethnic Chin that live in northwestern Burma. The average height is about 5-5 and a half (166.5 cm), although many are shorter than this. Unless we have the very best of our players on the highschool team(one is 5-5 the other is 5-8), the big American players seem to forcefully sweep the ball away! I know I am a tad better than my teammate (I'm 5-2, he's 5-7), but he, like most white guys, is taller and thicker, beating me half the time. It's scary to receive the ball only to have it exploded out of my feet by some big American. How can I level the playing field a little?? I know in Association Football, Iran and China play in the AFC and they aren't easy fry like me compared to the relative level (highschool and professional)..

Play quick one touch around the team. You can easily wear a big team down by making the ball do the work. Along with this, you must do a lot of off the ball movement to create space and more passing opportunities. Skill always conquers in soccer/
2 :
Simple they r big u r small with lots of energy. Use tht ball to pass around them. Try not to run with it though.
3 :
just cuz they're big doesn't neccesarily make them good. and you're only talking about a few inches here. I'm short and i have no problem going against the bigger guys. First don't be afraid of them, if you go in soft on a 50-50 ball you're gonna lose it and maybe get hurt. Second don't try to body them up, if you're really smaller than them, make the ball do the work, get around them lots of quick passes and touches to open space, if you try to go right through them nothing is gonna happen. Third: Keep the ball on the ground, tall guys have an advantage in the air, so keep it low, (but if we're talking 5'8 i'm not considering that very big that mostly average in soccer anywhere.) Hope that helped good luck and have fun.
4 :
There's no way. Us Americans are just THAT great. I'm totally kidding. JUGGLE JUGGLE JUGGLE! I'm telling you, juggling helps in every aspect of the game! It helps your one touch, trapping, receiving, everything! That's the best advice I will give, because I believe it works the best.
5 :
just as another person said juggle juggle juggle work on ur first touch because it is the most important. the quicker u can turn and face the goal or ur team mates the better u can do against the stronger quicker players. use ur skill rather then ur physic.
6 :
dont play too quick keep the ball back and once they start to come back move in more and play quick dont hold the ball to long and make sure eres people in forward so when your with the goalie just trick him and pass it to t=your partner and make sure he scores

If Buddhism is all about eliminating desire, why are the monks protesting in Tibet and Myanmar

If Buddhism is all about eliminating desire, why are the monks protesting in Tibet and Myanmar?
I have great admiration for the Buddhist tradition but this question puzzles me. Buddhism is about eliminating desire in one's life which in turn eliminates suffering. If the Buddhist monks in Tibet and Myanmar have no desire, then why are they vehemently protesting the Chinese and Burmese governments, even to the point of violence? Isn't that what ordinary, non-enlightened people would do? If you have no desire and have inner peace, why would things upset you so much? Shouldn't you be at peace no matter what government you live under? This is not a critique of Buddhism in any way, just a question which puzzles me about Buddhist philosophy.

They might feel it is a necessity to keep the land on which they practice their monkhood. They would be better able to practice their peace if the government does not object to them.
2 :
Buddhists still have desires, such as the desire to be enlightened. It is desire of things to remain the same which should be avoided. Everything changes, and trying to cling on to something expecting it not to change causes suffering.
3 :
they are protesting the fact that they are losing their rights more and more each passing day as they are being made a minority in their own home and soon their religios rightes may be extinguished completely. then they wont thave the right to dismiss worldly possesions. they wont be given the choice
4 :
because they like with all religions are not able to seperate their beliefs from their emotions about the issues. In other words, they have gotten caught up with the matters of the world and in some aspects, failed
5 :
Correcting injustice by vocal demonstration is not related to desire - in fact, it's the opposite - purging anger is a selfless, enlightened act.
6 :
Thats a damn good question
7 :
If anybody invaded my country, I'd fight them. There's a gaping hole of a flaw in your question. The Chinese Government, and others, won't let religions exist in peace. Fight for what's right. I say. Your question is a critique of Buddhism, by the way, even if you say it's not.
8 :
Communist China annexed Tibet and placed a military there. Buddhism is teaching the opposite of Communist doctrines, and thus, Tibet was assumed threat to ever-expanding communist regime at that time.Communism was, long before the cold war, spread from Russia, to neighboring countries and many of them were annexed as well and some of them are under communist influence as we speak. Tibetan - Buddhist protests are reflecting that. NO ONE bares for a long time dictatorships and oppressions from others. Including Tibet.

Firstly, there is a huge difference between the guidelines of a religion, and what individual people of that religion do. (Otherwise, we would never had any wars...) Secondly, in Myanmar and Tibet, the general population is suffering from serious repression, it is not at all a sign of desiring your own welfare when you go out and risk your life to help others. By the way, 'desire' in Buddhism refers to wanting your own worldly happiness, it does not mean that you would not take action when you see others suffering; these actions are done out of compassion. By the way, have you looked well at the images of the violence in Tibet? Can you imagine - in a country where people can be simply shot by police/army with any consequences for the police/army - that the people who set the shop on fire etc. look so relaxed about it? Yes, there is also one person in red robes among them; do you really believe it is a monk? If you think so, you really have no idea how the Chinese government operates..... The first few days, there was harly any violence from the Tibetans, and China did everything to keep the protests quiet. Of course they couldn't hush it up, so it is quite easy to hire a few guys to put on red robes, so you have excellent images to show on TV about 'violent monks'. If you think this possibility is merely my imagination, please do have a good look at the images again. By the way, there were coincidentally no images about Tibetans being killed and the loads of Tibetans that are now imprisoned, where they can join the many thousands of other Tibetans who are locked up because they have a photo of the Dalai Lama or a Tibetan flag in their house....
10 :
They were instructed by Dalai Lama who is funded by anti-Chinese foreign governments to create this VIOLENT "incident" on purpose at the time before Olympics.
11 :
In brief, monks are not buddhas.

I know this is really just a matter of personal oppinion and that everyone has their own thoughts about which they think are the best and worst countries in the world to live, the Untied Nations Economist and other professional organisations do surveys each year on which are the best and worst countries in the world to live in. Anyway in my oppinion these are the 10 best countries in the world to live in 1. Canada 2. New Zealand 3. Switzerland 4. USA ( United States of America ) 5. Australia 6. Sweden 7. Japan 8. Italy 9. Iceland 10.France and in my oppinion these are the 10 worst countries in the world to live in 1. North Korea 2. Zimbabwe 3. Somalia 4. Burundi 5. Liberia 6. Haiti 7. Afgahnistan 8. Sierra Leone 9. ( DRC ) The Congo 10. ( Burma ) Myanmar And according to a recent study these were the 10 best countries in the world to live in for 2009 1. France 2. Australia 3. Switzerland 4. Germany 5. Canada 10.Italy link comes from here http://au.news.yahoo.com/news-gallery/a/-/article/6657255/image/10/10-most-livable-countries/ Anyway please tell me which you think are the 10 best and 10 worst countries in the world to live in. Hmm Fran how could you put Cuba on your list, i realize it's your own personal oppinion but comon Cuba, it's a communist dictatorship where the people are impoverished oppressed and are living miserable lives which is why so many Cubans have risked their lives to get to America where they can live a better life, i think you have to think again.

You certainly sound like someone who would not worry about hurting poor grandpa. I think you are simply worried about a butt whippin. I dont know why grandpa still bothers with such a loathsome grandson. Your issue number 3 is very telling about what kind of a character you are. Just be yourself, and your grandfather will come to the conclusion that the Burmese would not benefit from the likes of you...well actuallly the present regime would, but the regime your grandfather craves just isnt your style.
2 :
For one number 3 is not a reason not to do it. So he spent $50.00 instead of $150.00 That reason is selfish on your part at least he got you something. For two you should want to do it cause he is your grandfather and he is wanting you to be a part of something he cares about and he is trying to get you involved and be a part of his world. In his way he is trying to teach you something. Yes it is wrong for him to say he is going to hit you but, you better think of better reasons then you have said to convince him why you don't want to do it. Cause the ones you stated to him aren't good enough.
