Hey, if i got married to a Burmese girl, would i be able to move there and live with her? Also, if i wanted her to come and live here for a year or two, can she come and visit America for a year or 2 as my wife?

Little significant problems for your wife, except passport by her govt and visa from US (It's rather lenghty). Different matter altogether to settle in Burma about whom I know little specificallly, but this I know: with the single exception of Thailand, few SE Asian countries confer "ipso facto" residence privilege to a foreign spouses. Counterintuitive, frustrating, yes. Nevertheless it's a fact. In my case I can still live in [ blank ] under a non-spousal program, so it's moot. Advice:ring up the particular Embassy and remove the uncertainty.

You would not want to live in Myanmar with a Burmese (even if you could get permission) because of their totalitarian, repressive and xenophobic regime. The Burmese themselves are absolutely lovely people and deserve better.

It will be very hard for a foreigner to stay in Myanmar because the local (the family whom you stay with) have to pay a very high tax to the local authorities just because they have a foreigner relative! They may come to ask for 'under table' money since you is a foreigner and suppose a "rich" man! My friend is married with a Myanma man and those above stories are from her. Now she no more in Myanmar...
