For decades, Karenni people have been living in very restricted Refugee camps in Western Thailand after fleeing persecution, threat, and human rights abuses of central government's manipulation. Briefly, Karenni has it own state, people, political ideology, self-determination, peace, rich natural resources, and many different kinds of useful materials. According to many experts, Central Government SLORC is eager to controlling all other minorities, because of the facts that minorities are rich in materials. As larger groups of populations, SLORC has been able to attack all opponents out of the country, Burma. Karenni is one of the seven minorities that has it own again literature, government, history, and party, which is called KNPP ( Karenni National Progressive Party). Martyr day, National day, Army day, Resistance day are big parts of KNPP's movements. Currently more than 23,000 Karenni populations are living in the two camps.
