Do Other Christians Share my Horror and Sadness Concerning the Treatment of the Buddhist Monks in Burma

Do Other Christians Share my Horror and Sadness Concerning the Treatment of the Buddhist Monks in Burma?
For those who agree, how can we show solidarity? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=484903 Excerpts from the story: Thousands of protesters are dead and the bodies of hundreds of executed monks have been dumped in the jungle, a former intelligence officer for Burma's ruling junta has revealed. … There were reports that many were savagely beaten at a sports ground on the outskirts of Rangoon, where they were heard crying for help. Others who had failed to escape disguised as civilians were locked in their bloodstained temples. There, troops abandoned religious beliefs, propped their rifles against statues of Buddha and began cooking meals on stoves set up in shrines. In stark contrast, the streets of Rangoon and Mandalay - centres of the attempted saffron revolution last week - were virtually deserted. … "The military regime won and a new generation has been violently repressed and violently denied democracy. The people in the street were young people, monks and civilians who were not participating during the 1988 revolt.” Last week when I read about the peaceful marches by the Buddhist Monks, I looked at the photos online and was transfixed by their calm. Calm, even though they must have known the probable outcome. Their temples are so beautiful! To think of them stained by the blood of those who protested nonviolently, I think it is something that should touch all, regardless of religion. I suppose this is just my way of saying, some of us outside Burma have taken notice and we are deeply saddened. More Details http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,509232,00.html

I think that most people with good hearts are saddened by any violence in the world, regardless of whether they are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, Pagan or even Atheist.

Yes, of course I'm horrified and saddened at their treatment. Are you horrified and saddened by the routine torture and murder of Christians in communist and muslim countries going on today? We have enough to be horrified and saddened about.
