Why did the Brits think they had to right to subject people to their rule

Why did the Brits think they had to right to subject people to their rule?
In the old days of the British Empire when they took over countries like India, Burma, Malaysia, Kenya, Aden, Ireland and countless others before imposing English rule. They murdered anyone who resisted and plundered the resources of these countries. Now that many of the people from these countries want to come and live in Britain, the racist Brits have a cheek to complain, unbelievable considering that the Brits did not go to live in their countries, they took over the country and treated the people almost as slaves. British schools teach propaganda when they teach kids about the glorious days of the British Empire, could you imagine if German schools were to teach about the glorious days of the Reich. The Brits actually caused more deaths in 1870's India by stealing food to ship it to England causing a famine than the Nazis caused in WW2. What makes the Brits think they had a right to sublect the world to this oppression?

Because China would have forced everyone to eat rice every day & give up worshipping God & we would all have to bow to a tyranical "dick-tater" worse than any King or Queen! All countries made mistakes in past times & now most have seen the light & become civil respecters of freedom! Except for the ones all you liberals want us to stop fighting!

The urge to conquer, dominate and exploit is part of human nature. It's part of the genotype which makes us a successful species. You'd do better to ask why these things are regarded as wrong now - the reason why they were regarded as right in the past is too obvious.

Don't think it were supposed to be that way. Ever wonder what happened back in the past after The Renaissance periods. Ever wonder what were they doing out there. The so-called mess with blunders and slip-ups with human errors was created with communication problems back then when living human kind were still primitive. Look around at the changes created by them for the good of mankind? Ever wonder what did they gave away without even being aware of it? Ever wonder how I got those gifts them ?

I doubt the complete veracity of some of your statements. I'm inclined to think you have been fed a line of BS. Check your facts against real history and you may find that some of the stuff you have just spouted is dead wrong. History is always a lot more complicated than some people would wish you to believe.

For the simple reason that might is right. I don't think there was anything philosophical about it, we just had the ability to; it suited our needs to exploit those countries for their material resources and that was enough. And not sure how much time you have spent here in the UK but you make some sweeping accusations about racism and the teaching of propoganda which i think are unfounded, but if you have some references on which to base these claims i would be interested to read them.

Because, at that time, British politically, militarily far more superior than countries you listed above, and there's no institution such as League of Nation, or United Nation, that can prevent British actions. Sadly, as a matter of fact, countries that was once occupied by British, are now in better shape than countries thas was occupied by other such as Spanish, Portugal, Netherland, or France. Read your own statements, you compared Nazi to Brits ? I never heard British government called, nor did a widescale extermination of a race based on a personal feeling of their leader and a fake science.

wow, it's the first time i hear that from someone else besides myself. But you know what is the saddest thing, there is neoimperialism going on right now and it will get worse. But i won't say who. and you know what, the highschools never emphasize on that(british empire) a lot like they emphasize on the Holocaust. but whateva it's all good.

to answer youre question "not that youre really asking a question youre clearly just having a rant" the british did it because EVERY ONE WAS DOING IT!!!! you tell me one country in the world at the time that wasn't already conquered or tributary or protector, that didn't fight at least one war in 1870. Every country in history has at least once tried to make it self a empire most spent there whole history trying to conquere other people land. example when the british first went to india most of the contient was already under the control of the mughal empire a foreign muslim dynasty that had conquered india selveral century earlier and was 10 times more brutual and oppressive then the british ever were. another one is china were chinese nationalist bitch about the opium wars like they were some kind of innocent little peace loving nation that the british treat unfairly. failing to recongnize there own history when the british sent there first embassy to china in 1792 trying to set up a peacefull trade and diplomatic realation the emperor they met had already conquered in his 60 year rule outer mongol, tibet, nepal, turkistan, and had also fought wars of conquest in taiwan burma Vietnam and agianst the gurkas. At the same time as this china demanded that all countries in the world "meaning those they had contact with and could bully" acknowled the emperor as the supreme ruler of the world and send him tributes. the embassy by the way failed miserably the chinese government didn't want to let the british import manufactured goods in exchanged for tea and silk and both country were insulted by each others behave the british by the chinese treating them as tributary as opposed to ambassador "china had not foreign ministry just a office of tributes"and the chinses by the british refusal to act like tributes. I could list more example for every country you mention but i don't want to rant. when it come to india and the nazi the point is intent, millions died of famine in india during british rule but the main cause was monsone failure followed by incompent famine relief, not british intent. And in response the british set up new famine relief system and built irrigation system to improve food production.a process that eventually was very successful. when millions were killed by the nazi such as gyspy jews slavs communist freemasons etc its because the nazi wanted them dead! and i don't think british schools glorify empire at least not in the way you think. so in closing maybe you should think about not why the british thought they had a right to conquer other country but why they choose to give up those territorys with out a fight.
